Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and her husband, Javier Bardem, are expecting their second child. Although the news broke out in early February, Cruz's publicist, Javier Giner, only announced it on Tuesday, February 12.

The publicist said the "To Rome with Love" actress was "extremely happy and very excited" about the happy news. However, Giner refused to provide further details about the pregancy, including the due date.

Cruz and Bardem are already parents to a 2-year-old boy, Leonardo. The couple began dating after meeting on the set of Woody Allen's movie "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in 2007. They got married in July 2010. The ceremony was held in a friend's home in Bahama. Six months later, in January 2011, Leonardo was born in Cedars Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles.

The 38-year-old actress shared her story to media about being a mother, "From the first second, you feel so much love." She added, "It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second. Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever."

A few weeks ago, Cruz's 35-year-old sister, Monica, also announced her pregnancy. Monica Cruz got pregnant through artificial insemination. She wrote in her blog, "So I've decided to talk about it: I have resorted to artificial insemination in order to get pregnant."

Apparently, Monica is concerned with her age. She explained, "A 40-year-old woman is very young and she feels very young but the maternity thing goes another way. It is measured with another clock that unfortunately we do not control. I've become very informed on the subject. It turns out that after 37 the possibilities of becoming pregnant decrease at an alarming rate."
