Lindsay Lohan, charged with assault in Chelsea nightclub catfight, set to appear in court Monday

Trouble-magnet Lindsay Lohan allegedly punched Tiffany Mitchell at the club Avenue in November. She's set to appear in court on Monday.

Hollywood bad girl Lindsay Lohan is expected to take her best shot Monday in Manhattan Criminal Court.
The wayward star's anticipated appearance stems from a Chelsea nightclub catfight in late November during which Lohan allegedly sucker-punched a Florida palm reader in the venue’s VIP section.
“I need space,” the “Liz & Dick” actress allegedly said before throwing a fist into Tiffany Mitchell at the club Avenue around 4 a.m. on Nov. 29.

Lohan was led away in handcuffs and brought to the NYPD’s 10th Precinct after sources said she tried to escape in a black Cadillac.
Lohan — who was charged with misdemeanor assault — is expected to learn if the Manhattan district attorney intends to pursue a case against her when she appears before a judge.

Mitchell’s high-profile attorney, Gloria Allred, would not say if a lawsuit was in the works.
“Our focus right now is the criminal case and whether or not the district attorney will pursue a prosecution of Miss Lohan,” Allred said.
The DA’s office declined to comment on its intentions.
Lohan’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, called the accusations baseless after the arrest. Last week, he would only say his client will appear in court.
“Once again, Lindsay Lohan is a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame,” Heller said the day of her arrest. He also said she would be “totally exonerated” and insisted his client was sober at the club.
Meanwhile, the coast is not clear for Lohan in California, either.

Lohan accuser Tiffany Mitchell.
Hours after her New York arrest, Lohan was charged with lying to Santa Monica cops about a June 8 highway wreck .
Cops said they proved Lohan — and not her assistant — was behind the wheel and she was hit with multiple charges. At the time of the crash, Lohan was on probation in California for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store. She faces up to eight months in jail if found guilty of violating her probation.
Sources told the Daily News the “Mean Girls” star hopes to strike a plea deal on the West Coast. If one isn’t reached by Jan. 15, the judge is expected to schedule a probation violation hearing.
If the assault charges in New York stick, Lohan could also be looking at a maximum of a year in city jail.
She also faces up to a year on the top count in the California case if she’s found guilty of obstructing a police officer’s duties and eight months behind bars if she’s convicted of violating her shoplifting probation.
