Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are engaged, y’all. Miley confirmed the news to People Magazine, and it seems like she also gave People some exclusive photos of her engagement ring too. Miley and Liam have been together for the better part of three years – they got together in the summer of 2009, and they split up a few times for a few months back in 2010-ish. But Miley and Liam always got back together after those early breakups, and word around the gossip mill was that Liam wanted Miley to live a less famewhore-extravaganza lifestyle. Miley did end up taking a step back from her celebrity life, and she and Liam have been living together for more than a year. And now they’re engaged…?

Miley Cyrus and Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth are engaged to be married after three years of dating, their reps confirm to PEOPLE exclusively.
“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Cyrus, 19, tells PEOPLE.
Australian actor Hemsworth, 22, who met Cyrus when they costarred in The Last Song in 2009, proposed on May 31 with a 3.5-carat diamond ring from jeweler Neil Lane.
Next up for the couple: Cyrus is in the studio working on a new album, while Hemsworth is currently filming Empire State in New Orleans. He’ll also shoot Paranoia with Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman before beginning production on the second Hunger Games installment.

Yeah, Liam’s career is really picking up nowadays. When Liam and Miley first got together, she was the breadwinner and the “star” but with The Hunger Games and “the rise of the Hemsworth boys,” Liam is definitely going to get more work. Will Miley be okay with playing second fiddle to an emerging Hollywood heartthrob? I kind of think she might be okay with it. Especially if she starts having babies.
Back in March, Miley tweeted a photo of her hand, supposedly showing off her manicure, but she really seemed to be showing off a diamond ring. I don’t know if this is her engagement ring or not, I just thought I’d put it up:
